MEN-IN-TRANSITION
There is a crisis in our communities!
Disenfranchised communities are
experiencing high rates of unanswered
substance abuse issues, criminal backgrounds,
low educational levels, unidentified and/or
low job skills, and high rates of unemployment
opportunities among our men, lack of the necessary supportive
services, has caused a
serious crisis in our families, community and society.
The root-cause is poverty! It brings-on hopelessness, which brings on despair, hunger, crime, desperation, unhealthy living environments and homelessness. Families are broken and disconnected from a decent quality of life. The absence of a stable family unit is putting our youth at-risk of the same generational disparity and continued poverty.
We have created “A Different Approach Program” (ADAP), to assist our MIT, to successfully re-enter their families and communities. Our comprehensive program provides the basic human needs to put our homeless population on the right track.
We understand that employment is the stabilizing factor for MIT. Gainful employment is key to correcting the hopelessness, homelessness and other ills in our families and communities.
Affirmation House is dedicated and committed to changing the lives of Men-In-Transition. At the same time, we offer the opportunities and it is the responsibility of our participants to hold themselves accountable for their outcomes.
